Flamingo Candle Box: June

Flamingo Candle Box: June
It's happening. My subscription box love is growing - an addiction is beginning. Stemming from the beauty and lifestyle box, the French My Little Box, I've expanded into candles.

I mean, obviously.

After doing some research on different candle subscription boxes online, I decided to receive my monthly, sweet smelling surprises from Flamingo Candles. Nobody had a bad word to say about the brand, the subscription is well worth the price and from what I've read, these melts are freaking amazing.

I am part of the Melt Crowd biatches! Well, more specifically me and Being Daddy Dunn are; this post is a collaboration post with my wonderful Dad who is unabashedly in love with candles - "I just like nice smells Leah, there's nothing wrong with that."

No, no there isn't Dad.

The box is dispatched every month on the 1st and arrived at our door on the 4th, which isn't long at all! For the first month Flamingo Candles gift you a wax burner to get the wax melting process started. For those who don't know much about candles, a wax "melt" is placed in a ceramic dish and a tealight is lit underneath to melt the wax and unleash the smell.

The wax burner is a firm love of ours. The design is black, sleek and modern, perfect for the living room or a bedroom in my opinion - it feels like a luxurious piece, with three open curves in the burner to create a gorgeous lighting ambiance in the room.

If anyone is hunting for tealights, you can get a back of 100 in Wilkinsons for £2, just FYI.

The melts are included in a tiny little box, perfect to slide through the letterbox, but the packaging I feel is just.. OMG. I'm a Blogger. I love pretty things. Flamingo Candles, you're so pretty!

Once the little brown package is open, I was greeted with lovely warm orange tissue paper and a black and white striped bag kept shut with an orange Melt Crowd Sticker. Inside is where the treasures are.

These thick circular melts are contained in brightly coloured tissue papers, a Flamingo embellishment as well as the melt name. The eight we got for June are as follows:

Peach (exclusive)
A beautiful ripe peach scent.

This is one of three exclusive melts that arrive in every months box. It's a wonderful, fruity smell - I can't understand why this one isn't always available!

Cheesecake Crunch

Sweet and tempting Cheesecake Crunch is a luscious medley of brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, cocoa, maple, walnut, citrus and caramel. Experience the authentic, true-to-life fragrance, with pure natural spice extracts.
 WILD Strawberry Millions
These bad boys were part of our staple diet in the 90s! A sickly sweet and moreish scent, Strawberry Millions is a blend of green strawberries and sherbet with a hint of vanilla.
Beach Please (exclusive)
A fresh and watery ozonic accord with cool sea spray notes, enhanced with hints of lime and lemon peel next to softer notes of pine and cedarwood, a hint of melon adds a fresh element of sweetness.
Gin & Tonic
A zesty, lemon and juniper scent with hints of coriander and lime to make a punchy gin aroma.
My Dad is a Waxie folk. This is the term created by said Father to describe candle lovers (I can't even cope) and being a devoted waxie, he decided to conduct an "experiment." He sliced this limey goodness in two and set one half on the ceramic to burn - the smell was still so strong despite there being a smaller quantity, which means getting more use out of these little beauties. Consider Being Daddy Dunn a weird candle expert.
Lemon Curd
Sweet and zesty, Lemon Curd is a mouthwatering lemon fragrance with top notes of fizzy lemon, sweetened by vanilla pods and sugar.
This melt is currently burning on the sixth tea light (which lasts approximately 3.5 - 4 hours) and the smell is still going super strong! This melt was the first one we tried, and what we learnt was how quickly it took for the heat to circulate and for the smell to start emanating - it took almost no time at all till our kitchen was a citrusy sweet heaven!
Chilli and Coriander (exclusive)
Fresh top notes of green chilli, cucumber and nectarine rest upon a green herbal heart of coriander, lavandin, thyme and basil and a base of soft woods, vanilla and florals.
This one just wasn't for me. In Leah world, everything smells fruity and Unicorns rule the world, and unfortunately this smell just didn't qualify. Still, my Dad loves it and insists on burning it despite not being my cup of tea and is definitely an option for the more experimental and adventurous.
Pina Colada
Sweet and tropical, PiƱa Colada is a pineapple fragrance with orange top notes alongside a touch of red fruits, peach and grapefruit and a smooth coconut and vanilla base.
Overall, we were thoroughly impressed with our first Flamingo Candle experience, and we're already looking forward to next months box!! We love how there is diversity between the melts, and how there is scents included we wouldn't necessarily try otherwise.
Which scent would you like to try from this month?
