September: My Little Mademoiselle Box

My Little Mademoiselle Box

When you get something designer in a subscription box you paid only £14.95 monthly for, you get a little thrill that happens whenever you stumble across a bargain.

Basically, that's the perfect intro to September's My Little Box. Although it isn't jam packed with products much like last months box (My Little Friends Box) it's contents are full of value, and allows you to delve into the surface of the well established Parisian style.

I love it when the My Little Box itself is a bit quirky. Much like the November 2015's subscription, which was a tin, and April 2016's My Little Flower Book, this month's wasn't just a regular box. The setting is from the outside of a shop, with two flaps opening where the door would be.

I love this little element of creativity and uniqueness!

This months main item was in collaboration with established French designer Claudie Pierlot. Personally, I hadn't heard of this brand before, but after some research I found that it actually sells on Selfridges and Harrods.

Stored in a pretty white, peach and blue spotted box, the item is a gorgeous, navy envelope purse with red trimming.  It's adorned with a "staple" of the brand, a little bow, alongside the brands name embossed in silver.

Inside there is room for notes with four card slots - on the inside of the flap is the words "Bonjour Mademoiselle" in the same silver embossing as the brands name on the front of the purse, which is a lovely little touch. There is a zip pocket on the back of the item for coins.

I absolutely love this purse. It is soooooo chic and I can just feel how luxurious it is. I feel really lucky and happy to have this item in my life.

Up next is the usual mini magazine you get in every box, My Little World. This months box is also in collaboration with English Blogger, Freddy Cousin-Brown. She is a bloody gorgeous individual with definite fashion goals - a woman who oozes confidence and seems to be an absolute sweetie. This months magazine included a lovely, bubbly interview with Freddy, as well as her beauty and style picks.

Every month a fabric bag full of beauty and skincare goodies is included. This month the bag has a pretty red love heart design printed on it, and felt deliciously heavy.

The first product I pulled out was an Essie silver nail polish in the shade "No Place Like Chrome." Pun are forever appreciated by me. I made a goat one up on one of my Instagram posts and felt like a right G.

Once applied to the nails, it is sooooo shiny and metallic - it definitely lives up to its name. The only thing I will say is that it isn't very chip resistant, even with a base and top coat, which is disappointing since the colour and effect is so gorgeous!

The next beauty product is from My Little Box's own beauty range, My Little Beauty. Described as "Audacious Volume" it's a thick, black mascara with a very chubby wand. The formula of the mascara appears to be very thick at first glance, and when applied it is really lengthening, but it's a little bit clumpy for my tastes. I think once the mascara dries a little, it'll be perfect for!

The final product of this months edition is a face sheet mask from the French/Korean brand Erborian. Once again, this brand is available at Selfridges.

I was super excited to receive this product and I honestly don't want to use it! I've been waiting to delve into Korean beauty and skincare for so long, and once this product goes, I don't know when I'll next get the opportunity to own another item. It'd be so upsetting to use.

I'm weird like that.

This mask is heavily enriched with Ginseng, a plant that has been used for thousands of years to improve health and general well-being.

I just feel every aspect of this months box is about fashion, and about what's currently popular. The lovely purse, the inclusion of a chrome nail polish - chrome nails are definitely trending right now - and Korean skincare products are so "in" and sought after these days.

This months items retail at:
  • Mademoiselle Pierlot's purse - £30
  • My Little Beauty, Mascara Mademoiselle "Audacious Volume" - £14
  • Erborian, Ginseng Shot Mask - £6
  • Essie Nail Polish (full sized) - not stated (£8.95 on Amazon, mostly only available in the US)

That brings the total to: £58.95
